Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, New Hampshire's largest airport, will get nearly $7 million in federal funding to repair two of its taxiways.
Several members of the state's Democratic congressional delegation announced that a $6.8 million grant from the Department of Transportation will be going to the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to realign and reconstruct two taxiways. The new configuration improves safety, increases efficiency for planes using the runway and ensures the airport meets current Federal Aviation Administration design standards.
Lawmakers welcomed the funding and said it will bolster an airport that is critical the state's economy. The airport, based in Manchester, is a regional hub that serves approximately 2 million passengers per year. The airport is also the third largest cargo airport in New England.
