Former Trump campaign manager (and potential U.S. Senate candidate) Corey Lewandowski signs a hat at a rally-like gathering in Manchester Monday

A few dozen backers of President Trump, including his former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, took to the street outside the Manchester office of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen Monday to criticize Democrats.

The Trump re-election campaign and local Republican activists did what they could to bring a Trump campaign rally feel to the corner of Elm and Wall.

There was music. There was Trump-like rhetoric from a bullhorn: "New Hampshire voters are sick and tired of these perpetual witchhunts."

And there was Corey Lewandowski — posing for selfies, signing autographs, and talking up a potential U.S. Senate run.

"If I get in this race, I'm only getting in to win. And I don't think Jeanne Shaheen has ever had an opponent like Corey Lewandowski," he said.

The state Democratic Party derided Lewandowski via statement as "auditioning to join Trump's impeachment team, which seem appropriate job for someone who admits he's a liar."

Another GOP senate candidate at the rally, former New Hampshire House Speaker Bill O'Brien, called Lewandowski a friend, but one who is "struggling with how he serves the country and how he serves the president."
