The first full day of spring will make way for a winter snow storm that is expected to hit southeastern New Hampshire late Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday. It covers part of Cheshire County, and most of Hillsborough and Rockingham counties.

Manchester and Nashua stand to get 1- to 3- inches of snow. Concord will get just a dusting, with the snow coming mostly after 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. The forecast for greater Portsmouth calls for 3- to 6- inches of snow.

New Hampshire's Seacoast communities also have a coastal flood advisory on Thursday, from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., to coincide with high tide.

The storm front is expected to hit the South Shore of Massachusetts with greater force. Parts of the Bay State are expected to get a foot of snow.
