Grants totaling about $750,000 to help small businesses in most of the state have been approved by the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority.
The money will go to seven economic development organizations.
It will be used to help micro-businesses get the technical assistance they need to either start or grow.
Typically a micro business has no more than five employees.
The businesses must have low or moderate-income owners.
The money is going to organizations in Grafton, Cheshire and Coos Counties. But it will be available to entrepreneurs in much of the state.
The grants are:
* $135,000 to the Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network in Bethlehem.
* $52,000 to the Mt. Washington Valley Economic Council in Conway.
* $85,000 for the Northern Community Investment Corporation in Lancaster.
* $97,500 to the Grafton County Economic Development Council in Plymouth.
* $147,750 to the Hannah Grimes Center in Keene.
* $117,750 to the NH Small Business Development Center’s Pathways to Work initiatives in Durham and Manchester.
* $112,750 for the Regional Economic Development Center in Raymond.
The grants must still be approved by the Executive Council.
