This annual celebration is recorded from the stage of the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, and hosted by WNYC’s “All Of It” host Alison Stewart and NPR’s “All Things Considered” host Jami Floyd. Artists, activists, journalists and change makers will discuss Dr. King’s legacy and how his actions and teachings inform contemporary times.

Program details from WNYC:

This year’s event, “The Strategic King: MLK’s Visionary Leadership,” will focus on how Dr. King and his colleagues’ skillful use of the media and politically strategic tactics  influenced politicians and helped pass key legislation in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.  The event will consider how those strategies continue to inform and inspire contemporary social justice movements.
