Mike Huckabee, the former Governor of Arkansas, announced his candidacy for the Republican Presidential Primary on May 5, 2015. Huckabee, who ran in 2008, worked as a television host on the Fox News until January, when he resigned from the network in order to consider another run.
Huckabee is an ordained Baptist minister and the author of several books. He is also a musician, and has played bass publicly on many occasions, notably with his band, Capitol Offense. He was born in Hope, Arkansas, and served as Governor of that state from 1996-2007, after serving for four years as Lt. Governor.
When Huckabee ran for the Republican nomination in 2008, he won the Iowa Caucuses and finished third in the New Hampshire Primary.
