New Hampshire Man Suffers Injuries In Snowmobile Crash

NH Fish & Game

Authorities say a 49-year-old man has suffered serious leg and chest injuries in a snowmobile crash in Colebrook.

Michael F. Amer of Swanzey was injured Thursday evening after he lost control of the snowmobile and it went over an embankment at the edge of the trail, hitting several small trees. He was taken to a local hospital and then transported by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and emergency personnel from the Colebrook Fire Department assisted at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the accident was caused by something interfering with the snowmobile's throttle. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
