Oracle Buys Manchester-Based Dyn

Dyn, a Manchester-based internet service provider, has been acquired by Oracle

The two companies announced the deal Monday morning. The terms was not disclosed.

In a letter titled "Why We're Excited To Join Oracle," Dyn Chief Strategy Officer Kyle York wrote about the agreement.

"This is an exciting next step and it is one we believe will have a lasting impact on the performance of the internet. It is an exciting day. Thank you to everyone who played a part in our journey."

Oracle is a multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in Redwood Shores, Calif.

Dyn, launched in 2001, operates out of Manchester's Millyards and helps direct internet traffic for companies like Twitter, Reddit, and Spotify.

The company was the target of a massive cyberattack last month. It also recently named a new CEO.
