New Hampshire officials say the state's unemployment rate dropped slightly in February to 2.7 percent.

The state employment security office says the preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is down two-tenths of a percentage point from the January rate of 2.9 percent.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2015 was 3.7 percent.

The state estimates that 722,000 people were employed last month, an increase of 3,050 from the previous month and an increase of 8,380 from February 2015.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February was 4.9 percent, unchanged from the January rate. It was a decrease of sixth-tenths of a percentage point from February 2015.
