Nine New Hampshire companies will share more than $100,000 in state Job Training Fund grants awarded this month.
The biggest winner by far was Osram Sylvania in Hillsborough, which received more than $42,000 in funding. Rochester’s Yankee Thermal Imaging and Cirtronics Corporation in Milford round-out the top three awards.
All told, the state expects more than 220 people will get trained with this month’s funding.
Companies applying for Job Training Fund grants are graded on criteria including the economic impact of the proposed training, and whether the skills would transfer to another job.
Under the program, winning companies are required to match the grants to train their workers. The training itself is typically done by the Community College System. Since 2007, the state has awarded more than $6.5 million in Job Training Fund grants.
