Native Artists Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Warner
Warner, NH – On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 13, 2025, Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum will open its doors to the public free of charge, inviting the community to come together in celebration, reflection, and learning. The event will be held at 18 Highlawn Rd., in Warner, NH from 10am - 4pm.
This year’s event will feature Native American artists speaking about their work, culture, and traditions. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear directly from the artists, ask questions, and connect with the stories behind the art. In addition, the museum’s exhibits, including the Medicine Woods Trail, will be open for exploration throughout the day.
One of the featured artists is Kimberly-Ann Lussier, a member of the Missisquoi band of Abenaki of northern Vermont, who specializes in the Native American art of beading. “Beading is my voice - unyielding, radiant and alive - proclaiming that Indigenous presence will never be erased,” Kimberly-Ann explains. Her art work uses vibrant colors and designs inspired by nature, incorporating geometric, floral and woodland elements. Materials used range from glass beads and leather to bone hair pipe beads and sinew. She designs for friends, family and sells pieces on her website, Monadnock Beaded Creations.
Families, neighbors, and visitors are warmly invited to take part in this special day of dialogue, art, and community connection. For more details, visit the museum’s website www.indianmuseum.org.
