Free Tours and Garden Party at Historic Stark Home
Enjoy refreshments and tour the historic boyhood home of New Hampshire Revolutionary War Patriot General John Stark from noon to 3 pm on Sunday, August 27. Located at 2000 Elm Street in Manchester, the Stark House will be open in celebration of the 131st anniversary of the founding of Molly Stark Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
“The General John Stark House was built in 1736, and our Manchester chapter of the DAR has owned and maintained the house since 1937,” explained Trish Jackson, Molly Stark Chapter Regent. “We are very proud that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so we hope that the public will take this opportunity to stop by, tour the home and learn a little local history.”

The Molly Stark Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized on October 20, 1892 and was the first chapter established in the State of New Hampshire. The Molly Stark Chapter engages in a wide range of service activities, including those supporting literacy, historic preservation, and veteran’s issues.
