Massachusetts could see 2 feet of snow from this winter blast, making it one of the top snowstorms of all time. The National Weather Service says wind gusts approached 80 miles per hour on the island of Nantucket. Thousands are without power, mainly on Cape Cod and the islands.

Here & Now’s Alex Ashlock went out onto the cold and snowy streets of Boston to check out the scene. He says it looks like a ghost town, besides the snow plows and the workers clearing the sidewalks. He talks with a snow plow driver, a student walking back to his dorm room and a woman working at a CVS Pharmacy that stayed open.
