Mito Habe-Evans (she/her) co-manages NPR's Video team and is responsible for the creative direction and sensibility of NPR videos. She leads the team in its pursuit of projects that are "smart with heart," from the comedic economics explainer series Planet Money Shorts to the short film Senior Spring, a national portrait of teens and guns. She developed NPR's signature documentary style with What Democracy Looks Like and One Nation Under The Sun.

I make documentary podcast series for NHPR's Document team. I’m interested in high-stakes mysteries involving everyday people. Many of my stories are about lawsuits or criminal cases. I work in audio documentary because I think it is the best way to respect people’s stories.

I pursue stories about the science and social impacts behind climate change. My goal is to innovate the way we tell stories about climate change, exploring multimedia approaches to highlight local communities and their relationships to nature. Before NHPR, I covered climate policy and environmental justice for Heatmap News and Inside Climate News.
