Electric utilities are reporting thousands of power outages in New Hampshire after the season's first nor'easter storm overnight.
More than 58,000 power outages were reported during the peak, according to the N.H. Homeland Security and Emergency Management, which opened its emergency operations center to monitor and support response efforts.
As of late Thursday afternoon, there were still 23,000 outages reported.
Residents on the seacoast, in the southern tier, and in the western part of the state have been some of the hardest hit by the storm.
Eversource has the largest number of customers without power, around 14,000 as of the time of this update.
Kaitlyn Woods, a spokesperson for the company, says crews will be working overnight, but that Eversource anticipates some customers will still be without power tomorrow.

Strong winds throughout the day have made the restoration of downed lines difficult for crews, Woods adds.
