The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of New Hampshire until 8 p.m. Monday.
The forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon into the night, with some storms in central and southeastern New Hampshire. There is potential for severe weather, including a chance of high winds and hail.

The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham, and Strafford counties.
A strong thunderstorm passed over Southeastern Cheshire County and southern Hillsborough County at about 4 p.m. The Weather Service warned of possible torrential rainfall.
In parts of Rockingham and Strafford counties, including Dover and Portsmouth, forecasters warned off heavy rains, wind gusts up to 60 mph, and possible hail damage to vehicles. The severe storm warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m.
