Photos: Sanders Marches In Nashua Pride Parade

Bernie Sanders marched in Nashua's Pride parade on Saturday. When Sanders arrived, he posed for selfies and praised Mayor Jim Donchess for backing the parade.

Listen to the broadcast version of this story:

"Hey, congratulations," he told Donchess, "You got a nice group of people here."

Sanders borrowed a baseball cap with a rainbow unicorn logo, asking, "A unicorn is politically correct?"

Then he marched, keeping a brisk pace under a blazing sun.

Sanders then opened a campaign office and addressed a Democratic dinner in Hollis, kicking of a weekend of events.

I cover campaigns, elections, and government for NHPR. Stories that attract me often explore New Hampshire’s highly participatory political culture. I am interested in how ideologies – doctrinal and applied – shape our politics. I like to learn how voters make their decisions and explore how candidates and campaigns work to persuade them.
