Michelle Obama And Ann Romney Cancel N.H. Events

Hurricane Sandy has prompted both First Lady Michelle Obama and Ann Romney to cancel scheduled campaign events in New Hampshire.

Mrs. Obama had been scheduled to speak Tuesday on the UNH campus in Durham.  The First Lady's press office says the event was canceled "to ensure all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused" on people impacted by the storm.

Ann Romney was scheduled to meet campaign workers in Derry on Monday morning and then hold a rally at McIntyre Ski Area-Lodge in Manchester.  RNC communications director for New Hamsphire, Tommy Schultz, says the events were canceled due to "the concern for the well-being of residents in the path of Hurricane Sandy."

Schultz says the Romney campaign bus will be used for any needed relief efforts along the East Coast.

Vice President Joe Biden is in New Hampshire Sunday evening, but has canceled a rally at Keene State College for Monday afternoon.  Caroline Kennedy is expected to introduce him.  And Mitt Romney is scheduled to meet with supporters in Milford on Tuesday evening.
