On 14th Anniversary, Currier Opens Sept. 11 Photo Exhibit

Currier Museum of Art

The Currier Museum of Art in Manchester is opening an exhibit of photographs chronicling the terror attacks in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, and the wars that followed.

The exhibit of photos by New Hampshire native James Nachtwey opens Friday, the 14th anniversary of the attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Nachtwey watched the attacks on the twin towers from his apartment window, grabbed his camera and ran toward the site.

The exhibit, which will run through December 14, also features photos of the aftermath, including images from Afghanistan and Iraq and of soldiers and their families dealing with the wars' effects.

Admission to the museum from Friday through Sunday is free.
