Squam Prints: Bleach Printing with Nature

Squam Prints: Bleach Printing with Nature

Join the Squam Lakes Association (SLA) on Wednesday, April 29th for a hands-on bleach printing program. This program will be held at the SLA building at 534 US Rt 3 Holderness, NH from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Using leaves and other interesting materials found in the natural environment, we’ll transform old clothes/fabric into unique creations. Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, this simple process is accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Lakes Region Conservation Corps (LRCC) AmeriCorps member, Macie Kane, will lead the program.

The program is open to all, but because we will be working with bleach, bringing small children is not recommended. All materials are provided, and we will have tote bags available for printing. However, you are encouraged to bring your own old clothing or bags (or anything fabric) to upcycle. This process works best on natural fibers, including denim, cotton, and linen.

For more information, or to sign up for this Adventure Art program, visit the SLA website (squamlakes.org) or contact the SLA directly (603-968-7336). The SLA also offers other Adventure Ecology programs throughout the year. These free programs are open to the public and cover a variety of nature and conservation related topics. The Adventure Ecology programs are presented by the LRCC AmeriCorps members at the SLA who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission.

The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty, peaceful character and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners the SLA promotes the protection, careful use and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces and wildlife of the Squam Lakes Region.
