ROOTED Earth Fest Film Screening and Tasting

ROOTED Earth Fest Film Screening and Tasting

Join MONIFF and the Monadnock Food Co-op for a free screening of ROOTED, a food justice documentary featuring activist and urban farmer Germaine Jenkins, as she takes on the power structure in Charleston, SC, to counter the tide of toxic food that has ravaged her community for decades. Will this oasis in a food desert survive and advance civil rights' latest frontier or become another mirage in the battle against food apartheid? This film ignites a powerful dialogue about the threats of food insecurity and its intersection with the history of racism and economic inequality in the American South.

Sample local produce as you hear from Germaine and the guest panel.

5:30 PM - Doors open
6:00 PM - ROOTED documentary
