Rindge Open Mic Moves Outdoors on May 31
On Saturday, May 31, 1:00 p.m., the Rindge open mic Music at the Museum open mic moves outdoors for the summer season. The event will be held on the Rindge Historical Society’s grounds at 24 School Street, Rindge, NH. This month’s featured performance is by the talented duo Glenn & Polly. A $5.00 donation at the door benefits the Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Everyone is welcome. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the show.
Performers Glenn Stan and Polly Pillsbury from Stoddard, NH, comprise the duo Glenn & Polly. Their finger-picking guitar style and balanced voices deliver a solid repertoire of well-known favorites and newly crafted songs. Glenn & Polly’s “less is more” approach to music fully engages their audiences.
Ray Siekierski of Rindge coordinates and hosts the monthly open mic. He encourages musicians, poets, and spoken word artists of all ages to take part in the open mic. Anyone interested in performing should email Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Performers are allowed up to ten minutes or two songs, whichever comes first. Siekierski is assisted by sound technician Mark Cantrill.
Karla MacLeod, President, Rindge Historical Society, manages all the behind-the-scenes activities from arranging the facilities, to handling donations and coordinating refreshments. Each month MacLeod takes on this significant effort with a small group of volunteers. She has been the inspiration behind Music at the Museum for over ten years.
Music at the Museum is a monthly event typically held on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society, depending on the weather. This year an extra February event was held at Cathedral of the Pines. Each month includes a featured musical performance and plenty of local talent to round out the afternoon.
Future Music at the Museum dates are June 28 with Tom Horsky, July 26 with Kota, August 30 with Not Dead Yet, September 27 with Rick Ekstrom, and the final 2025 season event on October 25 with a performance by Andrew Lewis. May through September Music at the Museum is held outdoors on the Rindge Historical Society lawn.
