Hike: Red Hill, Eagle Cliff Trail

Hike: Red Hill, Eagle Cliff Trail

This Week's Program: This hike will be 5 miles round trip and is labeled as strenuous. We will begin our hike up to Eagle Cliff (0.6 miles) where we can have a break at the look out, we will then continue on to summit Red Hill towards the fire tower (1.6) miles. At the summit we can have a lunch break and talk about fire towers in NH then begin our descent down taking as many breaks as needed.

What to Bring: Please pack enough food and water for the entire duration of the hike. We will be taking breaks as needed on the trail and plan to stop for snacks either at the summit or before if needed. Located in this link is a quick Winter hiking checklist that can be followed to help you pack for this hike, or any others that you might be going on soon. Participants should also be sure to have appropriate attire and layering for winter hiking, extra layers, and comfortable water resistant hiking shoes as well as snowshoes and/or microspikes depending on conditions. The SLA can provide snowshoes & microspikes for up to six participants.

Audience: Participants should feel comfortable hiking in winter conditions and on a strenuous trail, any children participating must be accompanied by an adult.
