Chasing Time: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Chasing Time: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Join NLRA and Climate Action NH for an impactful film screening of the nature documentary Chasing Time, followed by an engaging panel discussion and audience Q&A.

Over the course of the 15-year Extreme Ice Survey, photographer James Balog and his team brought some of the world’s first and most compelling visual evidence of climate change to the global stage, documenting the rapid melting of glaciers worldwide. Thoughtfully helmed by acclaimed director Jeff Orlowski-Yang (Chasing Ice, Chasing Coral, The Social Dilemma) and first-time filmmaker Sarah Keo, the film is a meditative exploration of time and mortality. It follows James and his crew as they bring the decades-long project to a close—cataloging more than one million images in the process.

This 39-minute Director’s Cut reunites James with the Emmy Award–winning team behind Chasing Ice to capture the end of the epic undertaking and spotlight the power of intergenerational collaboration to seed hope and inspire climate action. A beautiful tribute to the power of images and the importance of mentorship, the film examines the legacy their efforts have made on the world.

Following the screening, hear insights from Dr. Simon Pendleton, professor at Plymouth State University and glacier systems specialist, and representatives from the nonprofit Protect Our Winters. The panel will explore the film’s themes and invite audience questions in a thoughtful community conversation about climate, storytelling, and collective action.

Don’t miss this inspiring evening of film, dialogue, and community connection!

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
