Book Signing with Karel Hayes

Author and illustrator Karel Hayes will be at The Country Bookseller Saturday, July 6 from 11am to 1pm. Hayes has written and illustrated nine picture books and illustrated over 30 books. Her popular “Visitors” series for ages 3-8 follows the activities of a family of bears that takes up residence in a vacation cottage when the season is over. She has also illustrated the “Winnipesaukee Adventure” series by Andy Opel.
Her most recent trilogy for ages 8-12 is set on the fictional Lake Kanakondah. The start of the trilogy introduces readers to twelve-year-old Alex who does not like change, but finds himself pulled along by events he can't control. As the plot unfolds, every mystery brings a dangerous adventure. The final installment in the trilogy, “The Bell Box” just released and will be available at the event.
Hayes has participated in solo, juried, and invitational exhibitions throughout the United States. Her paintings have been shown at the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, the Fine Arts Center in Taos, New Mexico, and in New York City at the Salmagundi Club, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the National Arts Club. She lives with her husband in Center Harbor, New Hampshire.
