Pine Hill Singers present “A Winter’s Welcome”
The Pine Hill Singers announce their winter choral concerts on December 14 and 15. The transition from autumn to winter is a gorgeous one. The gentle change from September to December seems to reveal a kind of benevolence in nature, especially this year; the turning leaves have stunned us with their color, the air is cooler and fresher, and the whole process is so sweet - even a little melancholic.
The singers invite you to welcome winter in a new way with selections of classical, traditional and contemporary works. They are proud to highlight the acclaimed contemporary composers Sarah Quartel, Jacob Narverud, Ivo Antognini and Joseph Martin. Traditional arrangements of “Amazing Grace” and other seasonal classics will warm you, along with “Believe” from The Polar Express, The Mamas and the Papas’ “California Dreamin’” and the happy 1960 favorite “Please Come Home for Christmas”, and much more. They are once again incorporating spoken poetry--short poems by some of the most beloved poets of all time. Local instrumentalists will also be featured at this concert: Kathie and Dennis Cote, Rachael Booth and Kevin Havens.
"A Winter’s Welcome” will be presented at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 14 at Bradford Congregational Church at 145 Main Street, Bradford, VT, and 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, at the Sugar Hill Meeting House on Main Street, Sugar Hill, NH. Admission to both concerts is by donation.
