NHPR and The Music Hall in Portsmouth present Writers on a New England Stage with author Steven Pinker. He spoke with NHPR's Peter Biello about his latest book, Enlightenment Now: The Case For Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress.

Pinker explores the positive theory that the world is actually getting better - with happier, healthier people living longer lives. Backed with extensive research and illustrated with informational graphs, Pinker outlines the promising forecast on the human condition.

This interview recorded Jan. 30, 2019 at The Music Hall.

Michael serves as NHPR's Program Director. Michael came to NHPR in 2012, working as the station's newscast producer/reporter. In 2015, he took on the role of Morning Edition producer. Michael worked for eight years at The Telegraph of Nashua, covering education and working as the metro editor.
