For the 88th consecutive year, Time Magazine has announced its “Person of the Year.” This year’s winner is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Merkel was chosen over finalists including Black Lives Matter, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Time magazine editor-at-large Karl Vick wrote the profile of Chancellor Merkel that accompanied the announcement. He speaks with Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson.
