Nations Hit By Tsunami Mark 10th Anniversary

Memorial services were held today in Indonesia and other nations hit by a massive tsunami 10 years ago today.

More than 220,000 people were killed as a huge wave triggered by a magnitude of 9.1 swept across the Indian Ocean.

In the Indonesia province of Aceh, the worst-hit areas, Vice President Jusaf Kala led the tributes at a mass grave. He thanked local volunteers and the outside world for helping in the rebuilding effort.

The BBC’s  Andrew Harding was in Aceh in the days after the tsunami hit and returned recently to see how things have changed.
