New Hampshire is starting an Automated Victim Information and Notification System, to keep crime victims aware of an offender's status via text messages, emails and phone calls.
Victim advocates will be registering crime victims who will then maintain a personal profile to update their notification preferences and contact information.
A team made up of judicial branch personnel, crime victim survivors, information and technology staff and law enforcement collaborated in the design and development of the service, called NH SAVIN.
The plan is to start the service this spring.
