The Widening Lyme Disease Divide

A series by Boston Globe reporter Beth Daley explores how the tick-borne illness, Lyme disease continues to spread across the Northeast, all while doctors are increasingly divided on treatments, and the public is in many cases bitterly frustrated by the medical establishment’s response and the lack of ready answers.

  • Beth Daley has covered the environment for The Boston Globe since 2001 and has won numerous national journalism awards for reports on fishing, climate change, and environmental health, including being named a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2008. She is working on a series of stories on Lyme disease for the Globe called “Bitten by Uncertainty.”

  • We’ll also hear from Beth Daley (same name, different guest!), Chief of Public Health's Infectious Disease Surveillance Section of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
