New Hampshire Community Colleges Win Grant for Apprenticeship Programs

The Community College System of New Hampshire today announced it had been awarded a 1.2 million dollar grant from the federal department of labor.

The grant is designed to help New Hampshire community colleges offer more apprenticeships in the fields of information technology, healthcare, and manufacturing – all areas that have seen labor shortages in recent years.

The grant will help cover tuition for some students involved in apprenticeships. It will also pay for outreach efforts to employers to develop more opportunities for work-based learning.

The news was welcomed by Governor Maggie Hassan, who said in a statement that the grant will help to strengthen the state’s workforce.
