Clinton Says GOP Is Wrong On Export-Import Bank

Campaigning in Hampton, Hillary Clinton criticized republicans for not supporting the Export-Import Bank, which Clinton says has helped produce hundreds of millions of dollars of exports from N.H. businesses.

Clinton met with local businesspeople at the Smuttynose Brewery.

She called it “embarrassing” for Republicans to consider allowing authorization for the Export-Import Bank to expire. The bank guarantees loans for businesses that sell products overseas.

“It is wrong that Republicans in Congress are now trying to cut off this vital lifeline for small businesses. It’s wrong that candidates for president, who really ought to know better, are jumping on this bandwagon.”

Authorization for the bank expires June 30th. Some republicans contend the export-import bank paves the way for cronyism. 2016 GOP candidates and potential candidates Ted Cruz and Rand Paul Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush all oppose the bank.
