COUNTING ON BIRDS, NH PUBLIC TV DOCUMENTARY AT THE LITTLETON OPERA HOUSE

Thursday Nov. 21 at  7 PM Local bird watchers can get a sneak peek at this public TV documentary as well as listen to a post-show panel including David Govatski and Willem Lange. Filmed in NH, Cuba, Ecuador, this show discusses how annual Christmas-time bird hunts were transformed into annual bird counting excursions. The first counts took place in 1900. 7 TH ANNUAL HOSPICE BALL BENEFITS NORTHWOODS HOSPICE, WHITEFIELD

Saturday Nov. 23 5 PM Crystal Ballroom at the Mountain View Grand. Cocktail hour 5-6 PM, dinner follows with choice of chicken picatta, skirt steak, or chef's vegetarian selection. Following dinner there will be silent and live auctions, and musical entertainment provided by Club Soda. All proceeds from the evening benefit Northwoods Hospic, a division of Weeks Medical Center, which provides hospice services throughout Coos County. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchaseby calling  788-5020. This event has sold out in previous years.

Sat. Nov. 23 5-7 PM First United Methodist Church, 18 Main Street. All proceeds go to fund the local fuel assistance program through Catholic Charities. $8 adults $5 under 10, spaghtetti dinner with all the fixings, salad, garlic bread, dessert.
