In First N.H. Visit, Beto O'Rourke Vows to Reverse Trump Policies on Immigration, Environment

O'Rourke's campaign says he'll visit every county in New Hampshire this week.

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke made his first campaign stop in New Hampshire last night, rolling into Keene State College just after 8 p.m.

There was a crowd waiting for his arrival, including many who drove hours from neighboring states.

O’Rourke says he’ll visit every county in the state over the next few days.

Speaking at Keene State, he urged a reversal of Trump Administration policies on immigration and education, and issued a dire warning on climate change.

“Unless we act, there will be a hell visited on our kids and grandkids that we can only imagine,” he said.

He said he supports the Green New Deal proposal and wants the U.S. to lead on environmental issues.

He also pointed to New Hampshire priorities, noting the cost of higher education even at public institutions like Keene State, as well as the toll of the opioid crisis.

“Those who marketed opioids to the American public and said that they were non-addictive must face consequences, justice, and accountability,” he said.

O'Rourke has campaign stops planned Wednesday in Claremont, Plymouth, Conway and Durham.
