New Hampshire's new U.S. attorney is being sworn into office.

Emily Gray Rice, who is being sworn in Thursday, was nominated by President Barack Obama at the recommendation of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in June. Sen. Kelly Ayotte also supported the nomination, which was approved by the Senate in December.

Rice previously worked as professor at the University of New Hampshire Law School, as a trial lawyer in private practice and at the New Hampshire attorney general's office.

She replaces acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith. The previous U.S. attorney, John Kacavas, resigned last year after six years on the job to become chief legal officer and general counsel for Dartmouth-Hitchcock health systems.
