N.H. Supreme Court Declines To Review Liquor Warehouse Petition

The New Hampshire Supreme Court won’t review the state’s multimillion dollar liquor warehousing contract. Law Warehouses Inc. asked the Supreme Court to void the state’s recent agreement with Ohio-based Excel Inc.

Law Warehouses held the contract for the past 40years. Its owner, Brian Law, argues that the liquor commission violated competitive bidding standards to wedge out Law in favor of Excel. Law also says about eighty employees, the bulk of his workforce, will be out of the job when the new 20-year contract begins on November 1st.

Excel also won a bid in a different contract to distribute the liquor to more than 70 retail stores across New Hampshire.
