THE ART OF WRITING: ITALIC CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP

THE ART OF WRITING: ITALIC CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Have you thought about using words in your handmade books, or sending cards
with hand written messages or using words in your art...
This class requires no previous artistic skills and is a great way to learn about an exciting art field
Students will be introduced to several additional styles of calligraphy—Copperplate, Blackletter, Illuminated Letters and exciting contemporary work—all of which can be combined with Italic.

The Italic font will be learned using a broad edge fountain pen
at a pace that allows students to gain confidence.
Lower and upper case letters, numbers and punctuation are studied and incorporated into finished layouts.

Calligraphy is a beautiful and useful artistic technique, fun and meditative
and a wonderful way to enjoy the winter
Suzanne has taught calligraphy for many years and studied with many contemporary masters.

Max 4 per workshop—please pay in advance by check and bring supplies to first class.
