Soaring to the Stars: ABLE NH's Annual Fundraising & Community Celebration Event

Soaring to the Stars: ABLE NH's Annual Fundraising & Community Celebration Event

Advocates Building Lasting Equality in New Hampshire (ABLE NH) is excited to celebrate the advocacy efforts of New Hampshire’s disability community at the organization’s annual Soaring to the Stars event, hosted at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 from 6-8 PM.

The event will feature keynote remarks from Jessica Caron, a healthcare professional, chronic illness patient advocate, and nationally recognized speaker from Goffstown, NH. ABLE NH will announce recipients of the 2024 Disability Justice Star of the Year Awards, presenting an award in the ‘Advocate’ category to an individual who engages in the tools and practices of community organizing to advance disability justice in New Hampshire, and awards in the ‘Champion’ category to two New Hampshire state legislators who have prioritized disability justice in the policymaking process.

ABLE NH will highlight the progress and new initiatives that advocates made possible over the past year in areas including Medicaid adult dental care, housing equity, transportation access, mental health, and the intersection of disability and LGBTQ+ communities.

This casual, family-friendly event will include mocktails and appetizers, a group art activity, and the opportunity to attend a planetarium show. A $20 per attendee donation is encouraged and appreciated at registration, but community members are welcome to attend regardless of ability to pay.
