Music in the Gallery at WREN: Death by Gurdy

Music in the Gallery at WREN: Death by Gurdy

Join us in the Gallery at WREN this Saturday, February 21 at 7 pm for an intimate evening of acoustic music featuring acclaimed guitarist Randy Roos and hurdy gurdy artist Noelle Beaudin of Death by Gurdy.

"We are thrilled to continue celebrating the arts in all their forms," said Julia Webb, Executive Director of WREN. "This concert brings together two extraordinary musicians for an unforgettable evening of sound and artistry." Tickets are $20 and are available at https://wrenworks.org or at the door.

The performance will blend the melodic clarity of acoustic guitar with the ancient textures of the hurdy gurdy. Beaudin’s instrument creates a percussive pulse that feels alive and slightly unruly, evoking old roads and folk dances while sounding surprisingly modern and experimental. Together, the artists will create a conversation between traditions that promises to be both meditative and captivating.

Randy Roos is a Grammy Award-winning guitarist, professor at Berklee School of Music and owner of Squam Lakes Recording Studio. Learn more about Randy.

Noelle Kristen Beaudin is a professional hurdy-gurdy player, pianist, organist, and composer who brings a distinctly contemporary voice to this centuries-old instrument.
