About the show:
Playing classic songs of the 60s and 70s with some intimate takes of songs from the present day, these two world class improvisers weave creative new versions of their favorite songs at every performance. The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Radiohead, as well as favorite selections from the classic American songbook.
Clifford Cameron is a New England-based pianist and composer with a particular fondness for improvised music. He obtained his Bachelors in Composition and Jazz Performance from The New School and the Mannes School in NYC. He has performed across the country and abroad, from Bruno Walter Hall at Lincoln Center to the International Jazz Festival in Bern, Switzerland and Croatia.
Josie has a soft spot for songs that tell a good story. An active singer in the greater Portland area, she shares her love of storytelling with music that spans genres. As a freelance vocalist, Josie performs in several music projects, particularly jazz quartets and ensembles. Recurring groups Josie appears in are the Clifford Cameron Combo, a folk/chamber music ensemble, The Hey La’s, a 60s/folk girl-group, and the RnB band Josie and the Big Blue Worm.
