Come join Hunter and Miranda in celebrating the last full moon of winter! This will be a moderately difficult 1.8 mile hike up South Peak by the light of the full moon. We will meet at the Whitten Woods parking lot at 7:15 on March 14th to begin our hike. As we hike we will discuss this month’s full moon, the Worm Moon, and the importance of full moons. The March full moon will also be a total solar eclipse so we will also explain how solar eclipses happen and how that effects what we see. Hopefully, we will have a clear viewing night for these solar events.

Participants should bring any necessary equipment for winter hiking, microspikes and snowshoes can be provided for up to six participants, or you can bring your own if you’d wish. Extra layers and winter gear are recommended and will likely be warranted due to the later hour of the hike.
