Auditions for "To Kill a Mockingbird" - Community Players of Concord

Auditions for "To Kill a Mockingbird" - Community Players of Concord

The Community Players of Concord has announced auditions for its production of To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Christopher Sergal and adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee. This classic play opens in a sleepy Alabama town in the midst of the Great Depression. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the play immerses us in a simpler time, however, the facade of the seemingly peaceful town begins to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime. Driven by an unshakeable moral conviction, local lawyer Atticus Finch defends the man in a trial that sends violent waves through the community. Timeless and lingering, this hard-hitting work explores prejudice, compassion and the courage to do what is right. To Kill a Mockingbird will be performed on May 1, 2 and 3, 2026 at the Concord City Auditorium. It will be directed by Elizabeth Lent.

There are more than 15 roles to be cast including three youth actors, one female about age 9 to 10 and two males about 12-14. Auditions will be held at the Community Player’s Studio, 435 Josiah Bartlett Road, Concord, NH on Sunday, March 1st and Monday, March 3rd at 6pm – 6:45pm for children and 7 pm - 9 pm for adults. Auditioners are asked to register in advance by completing an on-line audition form prior to audition night. The audition form can be found at https://communityplayersofconcord.org/auditions-none-mainstage/, along with audition requirements, character descriptions, audition sides and additional information.
