A Yankee Christmas!
A Yankee Christmas!
Yankee humorists Fred Marple and Rebecca Rule bring holiday hilarity to the Park Theatre on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. “Tis the season to be jolly,” Fred says. “Even if you haven’t decorated the tree, bought the turkey, or found a present for Cousin Earl who invited himself for the holidays.”
Fred Marple, unofficial spokesman for the mythical town of Frost Heaves, has appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, on the radio, and in the pages of Yankee Magazine and New Hampshire Magazine. Rebecca Rule, host of Our Hometown on NHPBS, has been telling stories for more than thirty years, at libraries, historical societies, church groups, and charitable organizations across New England. She likes collecting stories because “they’re free and you don’t have to dust them."
Fred will be bringing the news from his hometown of Frost Heaves, NH, the most under-appreciated town in New Hampshire. Rebecca will share true stories she has collected from across New England as only she can. It’s an evening of laughter, music, and prizes, the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. The show is family friendly and appropriate for all ages. Fred says, “We are wicked excited to be coming to the Park Theatre, which smells a lot better than the grange hall in Frost Heaves.”
The Park Theatre is a state-of-the-art film and performing arts center in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. The performance is Dec. 12 at the Park Theatre at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20, available at the door, at theparktheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 603-532-9300.
