Lowering The Bar: Criticisms Of The President’s Lawyers Mount

President Donald Trump isn’t the only person still pushing the lie that he won the election. He’s helped by the lawyers around him, including Trump senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis and Rudy Giuliani. They filed lawsuits seeking to invalidate absentee and mail-in ballots. They’ve gone on television and twisted the truth to support President Trump. And now, 25 former presidents of the D.C. Bar say that’s enough.

They wrote a scathing Washington Post op-ed criticizing the lawyers working for the president:

ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct direct lawyers to refrain from bringing a proceeding “unless there is a basis in law or fact for doing so that is not frivolous.”

What caused these lawyers to speak up? And are there professional consequences that President Trump’s lawyers could face once the Trump administration is over?
