Report Highlights Socioeconomic Factors As Community Health Challenges

UVM Medical Center and other stakeholders recently released the 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment – a comprehensive, multi-year survey of community health challenges. The survey is a requirement of the Affordable Care Act.

Residents in Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties reported what they saw as the biggest health challenges in their communities. And UVM Medical Center uses the self-assessments to help determine resource allocation and care priorities.

Penrose Jackson, UVM Medical Center's director of Community Health Improvement, spoke to Vermont Edition about the report's findings. The full report can be found here.
