An Uncertain Future For Reddit

The troubles just won’t quit at Reddit, the online message board. First, a new anti-harassment policy announced in June infuriated users protective of their free speech rights. Then, this month, the woman who organized the popular “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) forum was fired.

Last week, the not-so-popular interim CEO Ellen Pao was forced to resign after formidable user pressure. Now, Reddit users are leaving the site in droves. The new CEO hosted an AMA yesterday to address concerns, but the still-huge Reddit crowd is not easily placated.

Alex Goldman of the “Reply All” podcast talks about how Reddit’s troubles might play out with Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti.
