Steve Prefontaine: A Legend Gone Too Soon

This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest runners in U.S. history. Steve Prefontaine was killed in a single car accident a few hours after winning what turned out to be his final race.

Here & Now’s Alex Ashlock looks back at Pre’s career with one of his best friends, another U.S. distance running legend, Frank Shorter, one of the last people to see Prefontaine before he was killed.
