Costco Will Divorce Amex For Visa In 2016

After 16 years of only accepting American Express for credit in the store, Costco – the nation’s number one wholesale club operator – will only accept Visa credit cards starting in 2016, along with debit and cash.

NPR’s Marilyn Geewax speaks with Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson about why Costco can make such a move, and what it means for the credit card industry and the economy as a whole.
