The war in Syria has left more than 200,000 people dead and injured many, many more. Since the start of the war, some of the wounded have found their way – or, more often, have been deposited – along the disputed border with Israel.
So far, at least 1,500 Syrians have been picked up by the Israeli army and taken for treatment in Israeli hospitals.
As BBC World Affairs Correspondent Paul Adams has been finding out, some of them are being treated using groundbreaking techniques. Israeli doctors replaced a young farmer’s lower jaw with a titanium replacement forged on a 3-D printer.
